Unworthy (Poem) – February 26, 2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n
May your light always shine upon me Lord<\/p>\n\n\n\n
That I may never know the darkness of my iniquity<\/p>\n\n\n\n
May I always remember and redeem the gift<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The life that you have given me, that I may<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Give back to you my life in return<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I pray that day that I am found worthy<\/p>\n\n\n\n
If only to peer through the gates of paradise<\/p>\n\n\n\n
To feel the warmth of your all consuming love<\/p>\n\n\n\n
upon my face, falling upon my face to embrace<\/p>\n\n\n\n
your blessed feet, and those of the saints<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Those holy ones who have gone before me<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And those who will follow me in my repose.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I pray that I am deemed worthy, if only<\/p>\n\n\n\n
To hear the echo of your heavenly choir<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I pray that I may be received at least<\/p>\n\n\n\n
to hold the door for those most holy, <\/p>\n\n\n\n
And higher than such a wretched sinner<\/p>\n\n\n\n
as myself, most unworthy to receive you<\/p>\n\n\n\n
and to be received by you, oh Lord.
